Having completed my undergraduate degree in Sports Science from the University of Chichester, England, I moved to Bangor University, Wales, to complete a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology. I obtained my teaching license (PGCE) in Information Technology and Physical Education a year later.
I worked at Moulton College as a lecturer in sports science for a year before I moved to the United States and completed a Masters in Kinesiology at Midwestern State University. I completed my doctorate in kinesiology at the University of Arkansas two years later and served as a nutritional counselor for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Following my Ph.D., I remained at the University of Arkansas for a year as a visiting assistant professor before moving to Henderson State University as an assistant professor in 2009. I also worked with the athletic department as a performance enhancement consultant. In 2012, I accepted a position at Oklahoma State University in the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology in the Program of Health and Human Performance. Most recently, I accepted a position to start a new venture at Florida State University, where I am serving as the inaugural Director of FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching.
I am an avid sports fan and have coached and played a variety of sports at various levels. I played competitive racquetball for several years, representing England, and assisted the International Racquetball Federation in a variety of capacities. I was head coach of the USA Junior National Racquetball Team and am currently the Deputy Commissioner of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour.
