Having completed my undergraduate degree in Sports Science from the University of Chichester, England in 2001, I moved to the Bangor University, Wales to complete a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2002. I obtained my teaching license (PGCE) in Information Technology and Physical Education a year later.
I worked at Moulton College as a lecturer in sports science for a year before I moved to the United States and completed a Masters in Kinesiology at Midwestern State University in 2006. I completed my doctorate in Kinesiology at the University of Arkansas two years later while I also served as a nutritional counselor for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Following my PhD I remained at the University of Arkansas for a year as a visiting assistant professor before moving to Henderson State University as an assistant professor in 2009. I also worked with the athletic department as a performance enhancement consultant. In 2012, I accepted a position at Oklahoma State University in the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology in the Program of Health and Human Performance. Most recently, I accepted a position to start a new venture at Florida State University, where I am serving as the inaugural Director of FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching.
I am an avid sports fan and have coached and played a variety of sports at various levels. I played competitive racquetball for several years representing England and assisted the International Racquetball Federation a variety of capacities. Currently, I am the Deputy Commissioner of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour.
