About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Physical Education in the School of Kinesiology, Applied Health, and Recreation at Oklahoma State University. Formerly, I was an Assistant Professor at Henderson State University and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas.
I teach and have taught a variety of classes in exercise physiology, physical education, sport psychology, coaching science, and research methods. In 2013, I developed Oklahoma's first Coaching Science minor, became the director of the Physical Education program in 2015, and in 2017, I developed one of the first bachelor degrees in Sports & Coaching Science in the country. I now serve as the Director of Sports & Coaching Science.
My main research interests include:
- Modeling fitness/health in health and fitness professions
- Male body image
- Coaching and ethics
For several years I have been researching muscle dysmorphia and male body image and now focus much of my efforts on how body image impacts learning and other variables in the health and kinesiology fields. I have also researched and published work in physical education, coaching, sport psychology, and several other fields.
In my spare time I coach and consult with GOAT Sports Performance.
